A river of rocks burries the valley |

On Sept. 3, 1998, when the moraine collapsed, villagers heard a loud splash coming from the lake, rushed outside and moved to higher grounds. A flood of water, rocks and glacial ice passed along the main stream valley. This lasted for only 5 to 10 minutes. |
