My name is Ashley and I live in Woodside, California. I am 11 years old. I love to ride horses, play basketball, ice skate, play soccer, surf, wake board, high jump, and ski. I also play the piano and viola. I have been show jumping since I was in kindergarten and train 5 days a week. I enjoy all sports, but riding is my favorite! I competed in the top ten finals in California as a Hunter/Jumper. My horse’s name is “Mindy”. She is the best!

I am very excited to go to the Arctic. I love to travel. One of my favorite trips is when my parents took our family to Africa. I love to seeing the wildlife and living in the bush.

At the beginning of 5th grade, I wrote a poem titled “I Am Green”. I was inspired after watching “The 11th Hour”. This film had a huge impact on me and made me realize how serious the things we do affect out planet. Ever since then, I have continued learning about how our planet is changing and what we can do to help. I share information with my friends and family and make changes in our daily life. Sometimes I make my mother crazy because I always let her know when she can do something different to save the environment. She now makes us “laptop” lunches with reusable items and sometimes we walk to school.
